Hey what’s up everybody, I’m Navid Moazzez from NavidMoazzez.com or Navid.me that works as well.

So, today I will talk a little bit about personal branding, how you can get started, some great tips, hopefully.
The first thing you have to be clear over is to figure out your why.
Why are you doing what you are doing?
Why are you getting up in the morning?
If you are not clear over your why, how do you think your customers or clients will be? Really get clear early on because people don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.
It’s this famous quote from Simon Sinek, he wrote the book “Start With Why”, which I really recommend you to pick up and also remember that you should be yourself because no one can duplicate that. In this noisy world we have, you have a unique story and personality, be sure to tell that and you’ll be able to connect with your target audience in a very powerful way. And, when it comes to kind of building these things up, you need to buy your domain name, maybe you’ll buy “yourname”.com like I have, but don’t aim for perfection when it comes to website design and let the branding evolve over time because it took some time for me. I didn’t have the website and design I have now, when I started out. You can start with a WordPress website, maybe a premium theme from StudioPress, that’s how I started and it was not perfect but I really just set it up and started acting before I was ready. Just get going and thing will evolve over time. Then, it’s very important to find your Unique Selling Proposition, USP, and get clear over your message and brand. It’s not easy to come up with that from the very beginning, but it will help you set yourself apart from the competition. It can be your story or it’s the way you write. There are so many things you can do to set you apart. Maybe you do a unique podcast, like this one which I must say is quite unique.
Always remember that and then it comes down to creating this REALLY good content, create shareable content, compelling content that your target audience will love. Always try to exceed their expectations and give them this WOW-factor, and this will also help you get noticed and build your tribe and email list, which will help you connect with them in a very honest and authentic way around your vision.
If there’s something I wished I would have done when I first started out it would be to really focus on building an email list. I believe that if you don’t have an email list, you don’t have a business or brand. You can start out with Aweber or MailChimp and set that up on your site, have that on your homepage so it’s clear and you can have a feature box that you put on different places on your site so people easily can find it.
When people visit your site, offer them something really good (give away) that they are willing to pay for, but you’ll give it for free! That’s how you build your tribe. It can be an ebook, video series, a report or an interview with some experts.
It’s also crucial to build relationships from day one. You can do this by building an influencer list with people in your field that you want to connect with. For example you can find people on twitter and create a list with them. Then you can reach out to them, commenting on their blogs, sharing their posts and also interview them for your site. That builds your brand and authority in a very powerful way. That’s how I started out and I still do that because it’s so powerful.
The most important tip is if you could start out today connecting with influencers, do it!
